Hi,

I came across your blog while researching the Pillans family.

As an archivist, I am working to identify a woman in several photographs that we have here in Columbus, Mississippi.

The images are from a collection highlighting an early Alabama/Mississippi female photographer Marion Stark Gaines (1850-1942).

I have hints that it might be a Mary Isbell Pillans Gaines, 1885-1916 (George Stark Gaines first wife and Marion Stark Gaines daughter-in-law), but nothing concrete. I also have one image from the web, but it's very blurry and difficult to identify.

Do you know of any images that you have of a Mary Isbell Pillans Gaines? I'm hoping to make a positive identification.

I appreciate any help or assistance.

Thanks,

Corinne - My husband descends from Beauregard Roberts through his son, Sidney. I'd like to gather as much details of the family as possible. Could you please respond to kudzu52@hotmail.com? My mother-in-law, Sidney's daughter, kept up a correspondence with her Aunt Corinne for many years. Esther
